Statewide Order of Selection Public Hearing Notice   Click to see the original TownHall event

Aug 26, 2016 10:30 AM

Pursuant to federal regulation 34 CFR 361.20 pertaining to public participation requirements in the Vocational Rehabilitation Program, the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI) is conducting a formal public hearing to provide individuals with an opportunity to comment on changes in the agency’s Order of Selection policies. This change is specific to redefining the terms “significant disability” and “most significant disability” in order to expand services to individuals who are blind, vision impaired, or deafblind with most significant disabilities so that in the event that the agency must close categories within the Order of Selection, individuals with most significant disabilities will be served first.
