The 9-1-1 and Geospatial Services Bureau (NGSB) will be leading an initiative over the next few months to update the existing statewide 9-1-1 Comprehensive Plan. This plan consists of strategic initiatives and 9-1-1 requirements in the areas of 9-1-1 operations, professional development, technology, and data management, analysis, and planning. Opportunities for stakeholder participation and feedback will be conducted in two phases: regional 9-1-1 Town Halls, and a statewide 9-1-1 survey. Regional 9-1-1 Town Halls will be held throughout Virginia in September and October. These meetings will allow for discussion and feedback on numerous 9-1-1 operations, personnel and technology topics including GIS services related to 9-1-1 call location and routing. All Regional 9-1-1 Town Halls will be held exclusively in-person with no virtual component. Although each of these meeting is being held in a specific VDEM region, attendance is open to any stakeholders from any region.
