Christopher Newport University’s Board of Visitors will meet on the 2nd Floor of the Freeman Center conference wing, 1 Avenue of the Arts, Newport News, Virginia (unless otherwise specified) on Thursday and Friday, November 7-8, 2024. A planning retreat for University and Board operations will be held. Committee and Board meetings will also take place to conduct regular business. Thursday, November 7, the Board will assemble beginning at 8:30 a.m. on the second floor in the Lobby. Board of Visitors will hold a retreat for board and cabinet members from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Room 202. There will be a break for lunch from 12:30 – 1:15 p.m. in Room 101. The retreat will resume at 1:15 p.m. -3:15 p.m. in Room 201. Student Life Committee and University Advancement Committee will meet simultaneously from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in Rooms 201 and 102 respectively. The Board of Visitors will hold a reception from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. followed by a Board of Visitors dinner from 6:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. at the University President’s House (1205 Riverside Drive, Newport News, Virginia) – no official business will be conducted at either of these events.
