PURPOSE OF PUBLIC MEETING: For the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to exchange information with the interested public on technical issues related to the proposed permit reissuance such as: site-specific information that DEQ may consider when drafting the permit reissuance; the standard content of permits; and how the public can provide comment on a draft permit reissuance. PERMIT NUMBER AND NAME: VPA00067– Synagro Central LLC – Culpeper County issued by the DEQ under the authority of the State Water Control Board. NAME AND ADDRESS OF APPLICANT: Synagro Central LLC, 1681 Tappahannock Blvd, Tappahannock, VA 22560. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND LOCATION: Synagro Central LLC has submitted an application for the reissuance of an existing permit that would authorize the land application of biosolids and water treatment plant residuals as fertilizer to 584.6 acres of which 253.5 are additional acres of agricultural and silvicultural land at controlled rates protective of water quality and human health. That notice will include instructions on how to comment and/or request a public hearing on the draft permit. Based on comments received on the draft permit, DEQ may make a final decision on the permit, or hold a public hearing on the draft permit. The public may review the permit application at the website named above, at the public meeting, by appointment at the DEQ office named below, or may request copies of the documents from the contact person listed below.
