DEQ is convening a public hearing to receive comment on a draft permit from the Department of Environmental Quality regarding a (Sanitary) landfill in Henrico County. BFI Waste Systems of Virginia. LLC. (Republic Services). has applied for a modification to a permit that allows the Old Dominion Sanitary Landfill to operate an existing landfill in Henrico County, Virginia. This modification to the permit would allow the landfill to expand its footprint laterally and would be comprised of 73.2 acres of disposal area, of which, 17.2 acres will be a piggy-back onto the existing closed Charles City Road Landfill. The public comment period runs from June 22, 2017 through August 11, 2017.
