TMDL Advisory Group (TAG) Meeting - Watershed Cleanup Study for The Broad Run Watershed- Rescheduled from January 28, 2026

*Meeting rescheduled to February 4, 2026 due to inclement weather closure of Loudoun County Public Schools on January 28, 2026* Public comment period has been extended to March 6, 2026. PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will host the Third TMDL Advisory Group (TAG) meeting for the Broad Run Watershed Cleanup Study on Wednesday, January 28th. The TAG members are assisting DEQ with development of a cleanup study, also known as Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs), to address benthic impairments of the Broad Run Watershed in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties, which have been listed on Virginia’s § 303(d) list of impaired waters for failing to meet Virginia’s water quality standards due to an impaired benthic community. The TAG meeting is open to the public, and any member of the public may attend and observe the proceedings. This meeting will discuss the benthic stressor analysis and its findings and initiate a public comment period on the final draft of the Benthic Stressor Analysis. This public comment period will run from January 28th to March 6, 2026.
