PURPOSE OF PUBLIC MEETING: For the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to exchange information with the interested public on technical issues related to the proposed permit modification such as: site-specific information that DEQ may consider when drafting the permit; the standard content of permits; and how the public can provide comments on the draft permit. PERMIT NUMBERS AND NAMES: VPA00058 – Recyc Systems Inc - Spotsylvania County issued by the DEQ pursuant to applicable water laws and regulations NAME AND ADDRESS OF APPLICANT: Recyc Systems, Inc. P.O. Box 562, Remington, VA 22734 PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND LOCATION: Recyc Systems Inc. has submitted an application for modification of an existing permit to include an additional 758.1 acres of agricultural land at 11 sites in Spotsylvania County. The permit authorizes the land application of biosolids and water treatment plant residuals as fertilizer to specific sites in Spotsylvania County, and limits the application of nutrients, metals, and pathogens contained in these materials to amounts that protect water quality and human health. That notice will include instructions on how to comment and/or request a public hearing on the draft permit. Based on comments received on the draft permit, DEQ may make a final decision on the permit, or hold a public hearing on the draft permit. The public may review the permit application at the website named above, at the public meeting, by appointment at the DEQ office named below, or may request copies of the documents from the contact person listed below.
