The University of Mary Washington (UMW) Board of Visitors will hold a regular quarterly meeting February 20-21, 2020. On Thursday, February 20 at 3:00 p.m., members of the Board of Visitors will hold a public comment period in the Rappahannock Ballroom of the Jepson Alumni Executive Center (JAEC), 1119 Hanover Street, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Members of the public, as well as members of the University community, may sign up for a three-minute slot at www.umw.edu/bov/public-comments/. Following the public comment period, Board members will meet in the JAEC Minor Executive Board Room for a report from legal counsel. Members of the public may also witness this meeting at the primary locations (JAEC Rappahannock Ballroom and Minor Executive Board Room), or by connecting to https://zoom.us/j/318080870 (PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android) until the electronic communication concludes at the end of the meeting on Thursday. In the event of an interruption in the broadcast of the meeting, the public may notify the primary meeting location by dialing (540) 654-1176. At 5:30 p.m., Board members are invited to attend the annual Simpson Circle reception at the Hurley Convergence Center located on UMW’s main campus, 1301 College Avenue, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Board members are also invited to attend the William B. Crawley Great Lives Lecture Series program at 7:30 p.m. in Dodd Auditorium, George Washington Hall. Both events are hosted by the UMW Advancement Office. No business will be conducted by the Board at these events. On Friday, February 21 Board members will begin meeting with an informal breakfast at 7:30 a.m. with the president in the Kalnen Inn at JAEC. The formal Board meeting will commence at 9:00 a.m. in the Minor Executive Board Room. At 11:30 a.m., Board members will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly renovated Willard residence hall. Following the ceremony, Board members will break for lunch in the University Center Colonnade Room. Committee meetings and reports from faculty, staff, and student liaisons will take place following lunch in the Minor Executive Board Room at JAEC. These are open meetings.
